Reports to: Project Manager Who are we? BCFHD is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian and development organization that was established in 1996 aiming at achieving Sustainable Development Goals and Humanitarian Response through implementing various programs and projects that provide humanitarian and development services to the community. BCFHD works in all governorates of the Republic of Yemen in humanitarian and development fields in several key sectors including Food Security & livelihoods, Education, Protection, WASH, and Shelter. About the Position BCFHD is seeking a qualified and motivated Natural Resources Management (NRM) Officer to support the implementation of a multi-year resilience and livelihoods project. The NRM Officer will lead the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of Natural Resource Management (NRM) and Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) interventions, working closely with local communities, government authorities, consortium partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen sustainable natural resource management and climate resilience. Key Responsibilities The NRM Officer will: Lead the implementation of Natural Resource Management (NRM) and Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) activities in accordance with approved work plans. Coordinate watershed assessments, planning processes, and development of community Natural Resource Management plans. Establish, strengthen, and provide technical support to Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) Committees. Supervise watershed rehabilitation and climate adaptation interventions, including water harvesting, irrigation rehabilitation, soil and water conservation, and ecosystem restoration activities. Coordinate with government authorities, local communities, consortium partners, contractors, and other stakeholders. Facilitate community participation, awareness raising, and inclusive governance mechanisms. Ensure technical quality, compliance with project standards, and sustainability of NRM interventions. Conduct regular field monitoring visits and prepare technical reports, progress updates, and implementation documentation. Contribute to project planning, procurement processes, monitoring, and knowledge management. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Water Resources Management, Forestry, Environmental Engineering, Rural Development, Business Administration or another relevant discipline. A Master's degree is an added advantage. Required Experience Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in Natural Resource Management, watershed management, climate adaptation, environmental conservation, or related fields. Demonstrated experience implementing community-based natural resource management projects funded by international donors. Experience supervising infrastructure rehabilitation or environmental restoration activities is highly desirable. Proven experience working with local authorities, community institutions, and multi-stakeholder platforms. Experience with EU, SDC, FAO, UN agencies, or other international donor-funded projects is considered a strong asset. Technical Competencies Strong knowledge of integrated watershed management and Natural Resource Management principles. Good understanding of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA), climate resilience, and sustainable land management. Experience in participatory planning, community mobilization, and institutional capacity building. Ability to prepare technical reports (IN ENGLISH), work plans, and monitoring documentation. Familiarity with environmental safeguards and project quality assurance standards. Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.Core Competencies Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Teamwork and collaboration. Commitment to accountability, inclusion, gender equality, and safeguarding principles. Willingness to undertake frequent travel to remote field locations. Language Requirements Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written). Good working knowledge of English, particularly for technical reporting and communication.
