CSA Project Officer

Job title: CSA Project Officer Deadline: 20/07/2026 Location: Taiz Governorate, Yemen (Frequent travel to project target areas required) Duration of Assignment: The employment contract is for one year, renewable based on satisfactory performance evaluation. Who are we? BCFHD is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian and development organization that was established in 1996 aiming at achieving Sustainable Development Goals and Humanitarian Response through implementing various programs and projects that provide humanitarian and development services to the community. BCFHD works in all governorates of the Republic of Yemen in humanitarian and development fields in several key sectors including Food Security & livelihoods, Education, Protection, WASH, and Shelter. About the Position BCFHD is seeking a qualified CSA Project Officer to support the implementation of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) and agroecology interventions within the assigned governorate. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering field activities, supporting farmers and community groups, monitoring implementation progress, and contributing to high-quality programme delivery. Key Responsibilities The CSA Project Officer will: Implement CSA and agroecology activities in accordance with approved work plans and technical guidance. Support the establishment and operation of Resilient Farming Training Hubs (RFTHs), agroecological model farms, community seed systems. Conduct beneficiary identification, registration, verification, and technical follow-up. Deliver farmer training, field demonstrations, coaching sessions, and agricultural extension services. Support agricultural input distribution and conduct routine post-distribution monitoring. Conduct regular field visits to monitor implementation progress and provide technical support to beneficiaries. Coordinate with local communities, extension workers, and local authorities to facilitate project implementation. Collect programme data, prepare field reports, and maintain project documentation. Ensure compliance with project procedures, technical guidelines, safeguarding, and accountability standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, Crop Production, Natural Resource Management, Rural Development, Project Management, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline, provided that the candidate has relevant practical experience in agricultural or development-related fields. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in implementing agricultural projects, food security and livelihoods programmes, or rural development interventions. Previous experience in Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), resilience-building, or sustainable agricultural development projects is highly desirable. Previous experience working with national or international non-governmental organizations is an advantage. Required Competencies Good knowledge of Climate-Smart Agriculture and sustainable agricultural practices. Experience in farmer training and community mobilization. Good communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to prepare field reports and maintain accurate records. Ability to work effectively in remote rural areas and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Good command of written and spoken Arabic; basic English skills are desirable.
