Job Title: Enumerator/ Hygiene Promoter Position status: (Full Time) Location: Aden Announcement closing date: 12 Jul 2026 Main Purpose Under the supervision of Hygiene Promoter Team Leader is responsible for the overall qualitative and timely implementation and report of the WASH and shelter activities for the ECHO funded project in his work area Enumerators/ Hygiene Promoter will implemented the WASH activities under the (hygiene sensitization, distribution of Hygiene Kits etc.) and the MEAL activities (collection of both qualitative and quantitative data through post-distribution monitoring, baseline, endline, and outcome monitoring (KAP) surveys, as well as other routine monitoring assessments). The collected data will be analyzed for each of the individual surveys and assessments and used to inform programming. Reporting to: Hierarchical: Hygiene Promoter Team Leader and PM Technical: WASH Expert Tasks The main responsibilities of the Enumerators will include the support to hygiene promotion activities , and periodic data collection through quantitative and qualitative means, data entry, assisting in the reporting of analyzed data. 1. Data Collection Conduct household surveys on selected households in the project intervention area. Undertake focused discussions, key informant interviews with project stakeholders, including beneficiaries, local authorities, and partners. Accurately document all collected data in the approved data management format or online data management platform. Ensure the respondent’s anonymity and develop a relationship of trust and safe space during data collection. 2. Data Quality Ensure that the collected data is accurate, complete, reliable, relevant, and timely. Audit, sort, and clean the collected data as may be directed by the project management and the MEAL team. 3. Reporting Routinely provide updates to the project management team on the status of data collection activities. Liaise with the MEAL, and the project or technical teams to identify gaps in the collected data and report on the identified data gaps. Support in validating analysis or findings during individual assessment and routine project reporting. Identify and report any challenges faced that could affect the quality of the data. Perform any other duty as may be required. 4. WASH and shelter duties Under the overall supervision of the hygiene promotion team leader (HP TL) in collaboration with multisectoral community volunteers, deliver effective and appropriate hygiene sensitization/awareness to help the IDP and host communities to mitigate health risks. Ensure that quality standards are considered during the planning and implementation of the hygiene promotion sessions as required. Participate in the distribution of hygiene kits during Cholera emergency response via the INTERSOS mobile unit. Sensitize people on how to use the components within the hygiene kit. The enumerator will conduct specific awareness sessions to water vendors or those responsible for trucking, selling, and monitoring water collection on Cholera prevention messages, on the importance of safe water handling, and on the purpose of chlorination. Participate in active research of Cholera cases. Collect technical information pre and post the hygiene interventions in DTC, ORC, collective shelters, and private accommodations to report to the hygiene promotion team leader and WASH activities coordinator for the analysis of hygiene associated risks and opportunities in the targeted areas. Conduct awareness sessions in the WASH intervention locations to provide the targeted population with technical inputs and guidance on water, solid waste, and sanitation facilities management, use and maintenance. Manage the hygiene promotion related logistics, equipment, and material. Ensure that community/beneficiary feedback is collected and reported on a regular basis. Supervise and monitoring of clean-up activities in the targeted areas. Any other task not here listed and necessary to the projects achievement in the sector and area of assignment. Requirements Education A university diploma or degree in social science, statistics, information management, quantitative economics, or another relevant field. Professional experience At least 2 years of professional experience participating in surveys and assessments. Previous experience collecting data for international and national organizations operating in WASH sector. Professional requirements Demonstrated familiarity with data management software such as KOBO. Excellent computer skills (proven computer literacy, in particular Excel knowledge is a must) and good knowledge on computer soft and hardware. Personal requirements Strong team spirit, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment. Able to ensure quick quality delivery in stressful environment. Very strong interpersonal skills; strong communication and diplomatic skills. Readiness and ability to travel around in Yemen.
