Job Title: Liaison Officer Location: Yemen Country office Department: Programme Reports to: Head of Mission Responsible for: N/A Hours per week: FT Job Summary As a Liaison Officer, you will support INSO’s operations by maintaining effective communication and coordination with government authorities, humanitarian partners, and relevant stakeholders. This role helps ensure that INSO remains legally compliant and professionally connected within the operating context. You will also play a key role in supporting the administrative and logistical functions that rely on timely permissions and access. This position is ideal for a proactive, reliable, and discreet professional with strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of local administrative processes and humanitarian principles. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain professional relationships with government offices, local authorities, and key stakeholders. Represent INSO at coordination meetings or administrative visits as required. Facilitate the processing of visas, work permits, tax certificates, registrations, and other legal documentation. Monitor relevant changes in national legislation and advise the team on compliance requirements. Act as the focal point for all official correspondence and communications with authorities. Support the country team in obtaining necessary authorizations for operations, staff movements, and assets. Assist with the organization of high-level visits, field trips, and meetings with external partners. Maintain organized records of all correspondence, permits, and government filings. Provide contextual and administrative insights to support reporting and coordination. Perform other tasks as required in support of INSO’s operational presence and legal standing. Qualifications & Experience Essential Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in liaison, administration, or coordination, preferably in an NGO or international organization. Strong knowledge of local government systems and procedures. Solid communication and negotiation skills. Fluent in (mention here the required local language) and proficient in English (written and verbal). High level of discretion and professionalism in managing sensitive information. Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. Desirable: Prior experience supporting international NGOs or humanitarian organizations. Knowledge of INSO’s mandate and humanitarian principles. Core Competencies Relationship building – Establishes trust-based relationships with key stakeholders. Planning & organization – Effectively manages time and administrative responsibilities. Flexibility – Adapts quickly to changes and remains solution-focused. INSO’s Safeguarding Policy INSO is fully committed to safe recruitment, selection and vetting of all potential new staff, trustees and volunteers and we will ensure rigorous compliance with our Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policy throughout the recruitment process. Terms & Conditions: Initial contract of 2 months, with an expectation of an additional year or more dependent upon funding, 2.5 working days annual leave per month.
