Position Title: Senior Programme Support Associate (2 positions) Duty Station: Aden - Yemen Type of Contract: Sub-Contract to Stars Orbit Consultants and Management Development / Hourly Contract Duration of Appointment: Three (3) months, with possibility of extension subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds Closing Date: 12 June 2026 Reference Code: CFA2026/YEM/S001 IOM is committed to a diverse and inclusive environment. Context/Reporting line: Under the overall supervision of Project Support Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Government Liaison Officer, the Translator/Interpreter is responsible for the following Functions. Core Functions / Responsibilities 1. Assist with informal translation of all incoming communications to IOM in Arabic to English; 2. Assist with the informal translation of all outgoing communications from IOM to authorities and other counterparts; 3. Assist with translation of related CVs and documents of appointed international staff for IOM mission on temporary or fixed term bases; 4. Assist with the translation of any other material including reports, snapshot, sitrep … etc; 5. Provide oral interpretation from English to Arabic and vice versa; 6. Translate informal documents from English to Arabic and vice versa; 7. Assist in the development and compilation of reports and other information documents; 8. Act as an interpreter in meetings with authorities and prepare the draft minutes of the meeting; 9. Perform interpretation function during meeting with any counterpart as required; 10. Follow up on response to communications and keep management updated; 11. Perform any other tasks as required. Required Qualifications Education: University Degree in translation and/or English Literature with minimum four years of relevant experience, or Schook diploma with six years or relevant experience in similar position. Experience and Skills: Minimum 4 years related experience in a translation/interpretation preferably in the Humanitarian Field. Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in performing responsibilities. Reporting Skills; Ability to pay dose attention to details and work with minimal supervision. Excellent computer skills especially Ms Office and SAP. Strong interpersonal skills Ability" to work effectively and harmoniously within a team. Languages: IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. Humility: Leads with humility and shows openness to acknowledging own shortcomings IOM IN/234 - Policy and Procedures for Preventing and Responding to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse IOM has a policy of zero tolerance of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) by IOM staff members and the employees or any other persons engaged and controlled by IOM Contractors. The staff members and all contract type holders shall protect against and prevent sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).
