The Communications and Reporting Coordinator is positioned within NRC Yemen’s Programme Support structure, reporting to the Grants Manager and working closely with programme, advocacy, and field teams. The role combines external communications and donor reporting to ensure consistent, high-quality representation of NRC’s work and impact. The communications function aims to enhance NRC’s visibility, advocacy, and accountability by producing timely and impactful content that reflects humanitarian needs and responses in Yemen. Given the complex operating environment, clear and coordinated messaging is essential to effectively engage donors and stakeholders. In parallel, the reporting function ensures compliance with donor requirements through the timely delivery of accurate, consolidated reports across programmes. Through this dual role, the Coordinator strengthens programme quality, accountability, and advocacy, while building the capacity of teams in communications and reporting. Responsibilities Generic Responsibilities Support the development and implementation of NRC Yemen’s Communications Plan in line with NRC’s Global Communications Strategy and priorities. Work collaboratively with colleagues in Yemen and other NRC offices to develop and monitor a communications action plan that reflects use of a variety of different communications vehicles (photos, case studies, online platforms, infographics, videos etc). Undertake regular travel to NRC program locations to gather content relating to NRC programs and other purposes, and support program staff with communications-related activities. Support all programs teams with the development of visibility materials, ensuring these are developed in compliance with NRC and donor guidelines. Craft creative products that portray the humanitarian situation and needs in a manner that is dignified and focuses on the capacity of people in Yemen for individual agency, in line with NRC guidelines. Work closely with media and communications colleagues at the regional and global levels to develop, coordinate and polish communications materials. Liaise with NRC’s grants and programs teams to ensure NRC is meeting its commitments to donors and communicating appropriately with communities. Participate in coordination mechanisms and forums as appropriate. Liaise professionally and efficiently with national and international journalists. Oversee NRC Yemen’s social media outputs and manage feedback and complaints in coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator. Develop communications-related tools, templates or SOPs as required. Coordinate the narrative aspects of the multi-governorates, multi-year, multi-partner programs in line with donor requirements. Coordinator the collection of inputs, review and consolidating of reports, in a timely fashion throughout the life of the projects. Prepare and review reports for donors, partners, government on program progress, ensuring all reporting requirements of donors are delivered on time and in a quality manner. Any other communications/reporting-related task as required or directed. Specific Responsibilities Develop a monthly action plan detailing outputs and support required Visit NRC field sites to collect communications materials for internal and external use Upload quality photos, video, social media content and other materials into NRC’s content hub on a regular basis for use in traditional and social media Respond to inquiries from national and international journalists and help facilitate interviews Provide training and on-the-job support to colleagues in field sites to develop their skills in communications, including taking quality photos and developing case studies Work efficiently with programs teams to develop visibility materials and other communications products that comply with NRC and donor guidelines Develop infographics or other visual materials as required Engage actively with NRC regional and global communications teams to generate ideas, polish materials and ensure NRC Yemen’s communications are appropriate targeted Assist in leading reporting process and consolidating donor reports to ensure timely submission Scale and Scope of the Position Financial responsibility: N/A Resources responsibility: No Critical Interfaces Strategy and planning: Advocacy Manager; Global Communications and Media teams Content development: Area Manager, Program Coordinators, Grants team Capacity Building: Field Teams International Communications products: CC Specialists and Program Coordinators Safety and movement: Security Coordinators and Logistics Feedback and complaints: Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator Programme and support staff Qualifications Generic Professional Competencies At least five years of INGO or equivalent experience working in media and communications Relevant university degree and demonstrated skills using photoshop and other relevant programs Thorough knowledge and experience with photography and videography, including video editing Thorough knowledge and experience drafting material for traditional media Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups through training, mentoring and other formal and non-formal methods High level English language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing) Analytic and computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) At least 2 years of donor reporting experience of managing reports for various donors including, ECHO, FCDO, Pooled Funds, and others will have an added advantage.
