Human Access for Partnership and Development association announces the following vacant position: Basic Job Information Position: Community Mobilization Assistant for Protection and Education Number Required: 2 Duty Station: Al Dhale'e – Taiz Contract Duration: 8 months Application Deadline: May 15, 2026 General Objective of the Position To strengthen community participation in supporting education and protecting children through forming local committees, implementing awareness campaigns, and coordinating field activities, ensuring achievement of project objectives and activating the community’s role in child protection and education promotion. The position also aims to build and strengthen a participatory relationship between the project and targeted communities by mobilizing active and positive engagement from different community components (including parents, Parent-Teacher Associations, and community leaders) to support education activities, child protection, and psychosocial support for children. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Supervise the formation, training, and activation of community committees (such as Parent-Teacher Associations) to support educational initiatives and child protection. 2. Implement awareness campaigns and community discussions on the importance of education, child protection, and prevention of harmful practices such as gender-based violence. 3. Directly supervise field implementation of activities in targeted schools within the project area. 4. Organize community awareness sessions on education, inclusion of children with disabilities, and ensuring access to formal schools. 5. Participate in needs assessments, data collection, focus group discussions, and information/awareness activities in coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation team. 6. Encourage parents to enroll their children in formal and non-formal education programs and monitor their attendance. 7. Act as the main focal point between the project, local community, and relevant authorities at the area level. 8. Contribute to selecting and recruiting community volunteers and local activists and coordinate their participation in project activities. 9. Document success stories and field challenges and share them with the project team. 10. Collect accurate information from the community regarding challenges, risks, and needs, and report them to relevant project stakeholders. 11. Support implementation of the Complaint and Response Mechanism (CRM) to ensure accountability and responsiveness to beneficiaries’ needs. 12. Follow up on documentation of community activities and submit daily and weekly reports to the direct supervisor. 13. Ensure accuracy of all field data documentation. 14. Adhere to Human Access policies and practices, including codes of conduct and relevant administrative procedures. 15. Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the Project Manager. Essential Job Requirements Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Sociology or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in community mobilization within protection and education projects in humanitarian organizations. Advanced experience in designing, managing, and implementing mobilization, awareness, and community engagement programs. Advanced level of English (written and spoken). Skills and Competencies Very strong communication and negotiation skills to build trust with community leaders and members. Knowledge of community committee systems and initiatives. High competence in organizing and facilitating participatory community meetings and workshops. Experience in field data collection and activity documentation according to technical standards. Ability to plan and implement awareness and advocacy campaigns supporting education and protection issues. Leadership skills in managing and guiding field teams, including planning, monitoring, and evaluation. Strong ability to prepare technical reports related to activities and field campaigns. Deep understanding of human relations and positive engagement with diverse community groups. Familiarity with coordination policies and procedures with local authorities and communities. Ability to work in challenging field environments and travel between target areas when needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Skills in data collection, analysis, and presentation for decision-making support. Ability to prepare technical reports according to institutional standards. Physical and Mental Requirements 1.
