Job Title: Livelihoods project Coordinator Functional Title: Livelihoods project Coordinator Department: Programme Project Name: FAO/HAD Project Location: Almahara - with frequent travel to HQ Supervisor: Program Manager JOB SUMMARY: Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating materials, resources, and subcontractors to execute project interventions on schedule and within budget. Key duties include project administration, liaising with suppliers and engineers, managing documentation, ensuring health and safety compliance, and tracking project progress and finances. The role involves supporting project delivery teams by handling logistics, placing orders, and communicating project expectations to stakeholders. The Livelihoods Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring proper implementation of all and food security and livelihood activities. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining good communication and dynamism within the team and relevant authorities to guarantee coherence of actions planned and to maintain high levels of motivation of all team members. The purpose of Hawf livelihoods project is strengthening of local communities in the way to reduce loss of biodiversity and land degradation due to overgrazing and overfishing through support of smallholder crop, livestock, and fisheries farmers and value chains FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS: Develop Detailed Implementation Plan for the Livelihoods Project Ensure project implementation (activities and budget utilization) complies with HAD Yemen and the donor regulations. Registration, training and monitor targeted Households, registration and supported and their capacity building strengthened on Dairy value chain, fodder production, rangeland/ grazing association, beekeeping and animal feed processing. Registration, training, monitor identified Fishermen and fisheries cooperatives, , supported and their capacity strengthened on fisheries best practices and adopt the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries. Registration, training, monitor, and supported to adopt agroecological best practices. Responsible for the delivery and implementation of the project in line with the HAD, donor and government regulations and that the project meets its objectives. This includes ongoing project assessment, on ground visiting of project sites, putting in place project monitoring system, regular situation updates and reporting to the Program Manager. Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and interim project reports lead the related project team in a manner that promotes teamwork and assists in achieving the programme aims. Ensures wherever possible an empowering approach to working with communities. Contribute to the HAD Yemen strategic planning and sub-office management Ensure that the project delivers the planned capacity-building of relevant stakeholders. Coordinates with HAD Yemen team members, community representatives and local authorities. This includes active participation in relevant sectors coordination meetings and promotion of exchange of good practice and information among partners’ and government relevant parts. Accompanies donor representatives and other visitors to the field sites when requested. Represent HAD YEMEN with Almahara as and when delegated by the Programme Manager. Follow security guidelines at all levels, and orient related staff Performs other duties as directed by the main office management. REQUIREMENTS Qualification: advanced university degree on Agriculture, veterinary, economy, rural development or related field. Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years field experience related to food security and livelihood for a large International NGO Languages: Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required. Knowledge of Arabic language is an asset. Competencies: Proven experience and skills in project design including developing concept notes and strong proposals and reports writing. Knowledge of the Sphere standards and SDGs Good Computer skills and knowledge of Data analysis software’s (e.g. SPSS etc) Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Able to deliver results within tight deadlines. Proven experience of participatory programme approaches Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and stay for long periods in difficult environments. WORKING CONDTIIONS: Almahara is the employee’s duty station. The employee may be required to perform assignments after his/her working hours and on holidays beside field trips.
