Job title: Program officer Background Accept International is an International NGO based in Japan which was established in 2017. We aim to support people who are left behind in conflict affected areas and our main projects focus on deradicalization and reintegration support to former combatants for conflict resolution and peace building. Our work started in Somalia and now supporting vulnerable youth in Yemen, Kenya, Indonesia and Palestine. To promote peacebuilding, we also implement humanitarian assistance projects to people who were affected by the conflict such as IDPs and host communities to assist their lives under severe conflicts. Job Summary The Program Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on programs and projects in line with the organization’s goals, policies, and donor requirements. The role ensures quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of outputs, while fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Duties and responsibilities 1. Develop, implement, and monitor program and project activities within the approved budget and timelines through meetings, field visits and any other necessary coordination. 2. Participate in weekly regular meetings with headquarters to review progress and address challenges. 3. Establish and maintain a systematic reporting mechanism (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports) to the Country Director and the headquarters, using google spreadsheets, whatsapp and other communication tools. 4. Monitor, evaluate, and report on program performance and results of the projects through field visits. 5. Build and maintain relationships with government authorities, local organizations, and other partners. 6. Manage field team (1-3 assistant staff) to efficiently implement the projects. 7. Ensure timely preparation and submission of all required reports. 8. Provide technical and administrative support to ensure effective project management. 9. Collaborate with other departments (finance, logistics) to ensure smooth program implementation. 10. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or headquarters. Required Skills and Experience ・Education: University degree in social sciences, development studies, management, or a related field. ・Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in program/project management, preferably in humanitarian or development settings. ・Language: Fluency in English (oral and written) and Arabic ・ Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and google drive (Documents, Spreadsheets, Slides); familiarity with project management tools (Trello) and reporting systems. Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly in English and Arabic. 3. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders. 5. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and provide effective solutions under pressure to achieve goals. Duration and Location Contract Duration: Subject to confirmation after a three-month probationary period. Duty Station: Ma’rib, Yemen Reporting and Supervision The Program Officer will report directly to the Country Director in Yemen Office and the Section Manager at the headquarter and work in close coordination with Finance and Logistics officer.
