Project Manager About SDF: The Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) is a non-governmental, voluntary, independent organization established in March 2015, officially registered at the Ministry of Social Affairs as per license (99/307). SDF has been present in Yemen, it has experience implementing emergency child protection and education responses, including women and youth empowerment. SDF has experience in handling large grants from international donors, such as UNDP, UNHCR, WFP, OCHA, WHO, SCI and ZOA. SDF has excellent national-level relations and has experience in coordinating with both national and international NGOs. It has offices, staff and community-based committees in Aden, Lahj, Al-Dala'a, Hajjah, Sana'a, Marib, Ibb, Hudidah, Dhamar, Almahweet, Al-Bayda’a, and Hadramout as well as solid experiences engaging with local communities from whom it gained acceptance and with whom it has collaborated in the past. In addition to that, SDF creates livelihood opportunities and community-based protection. Posted vacancy: Project Manager Employer: Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) – Yemen. Location: Lahj Doner: Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) Contract Type: Full-Time. Position reporting to: Project Manager. Starting Date: ASAP. Post date: April 9th, 2026 Closing date: April 16th, 2026 Number of Positions: 1 Job Purpose: The Project Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of project activities in humanitarian settings, ensuring alignment with project workplans and achievement of intended outcomes. The role focuses on integrating core protection principles across all activities and safeguarding vulnerable populations from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the initiation, regular monitoring, and evaluation of the project activity plan to ensure effective and timely implementation of all project components within the allocated budget. Supervise and support Project staff, including Protection Officers, Case Workers, and Community Mobilizers. Conduct regular team meetings, performance appraisals, and coaching sessions. Production of monthly internal specific reports and elaboration of the mid-term and final reports according to Donor rules and regulations. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Manage the relationship with all stakeholders. Perform risk management to minimize project risks. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects. Represent SDF in cluster meetings. Manage all logistical procedures for the project in coordination with the Logistic Coordinator – ensuring SDF and donor requirements are met and proper documentation is collected and maintained for all procurement. Ensure data is collected regularly to respond to agreed indicators. Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Responsible for the total project activities and sub-plans such as quality of services improvement, risk management, and campaigns regarding the project presenting an impression to the targeted community. Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels in compliance with the latest best practices. Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps, and other customized reports for document needs. Develop or adapt tools, SOPs, and guidelines for protection service delivery. Ensure mainstreaming of protection across other sectoral interventions. Conduct supervisory field visits and ensure community engagement, feedback mechanisms, and accountability to affected populations. Perform other related duties as assigned in order to facilitate the project activities. Qualifications and Requirements: Master or Bachelor degree preferred to be in Business Administration or any other field with the required number of years’ experience. At least 3 years of experience as a project or program manager in the humanitarian field, preferably with experience in a multi-sectoral approach. Technical background in protection and economic resilience-related projects. Strong experience with Social Work. Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. Ability to work under Pressure. Excellent computer skills (proven computer literacy, in particular proficiency with MS Office tools is a must). Ability to Plan and writing Report. Commitment to and understanding of SDF’s aims, values and principles.
